Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

I do not collect any info on visitors to these pages.  I do not offer any active links to other locations. Privacy policy uses the pronoun “WE” in the policy statement, but that is a euphemism for “I”, because I’m the only one who posts to these pages.

You may copy other website addresses (URL’s) that I may cite in my text, but I usually avoid using hyperlinks that will take you to some other site because idiots that enjoy causing problems for others could possibly alter the hyperlinks. This page is published as a “best effort” to comply with the guidance published by WordPress.  As they say to me:

It is your responsibility to write a comprehensive privacy policy, to make sure it reflects all national and international legal requirements on privacy, and to keep your policy current and accurate.

So here it is… my privacy policy.

Who we are:

Our website address is: http://pkelly.org

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

None!

Comments

The “Comments” function has been deactivated on this site, but…

if we did have a comments page and visitors did leave comments on a site such as this, the data is collected, as shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.  Also, FYI, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

We don’t allow you to upload media, but…

if you do upload images to a website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

We do not offer cookies, but…

If you visit a web site that does offer cookies and you leave a comment on a web site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites

We do not embed content from other sites, but…

If we did they might include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.  These other websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

I try to type out all URLs/ links to other pages and sites because there are bad actors that disrupt the links and redirect you without your knowledge, thus I type out all URLs.

Who we share your data with

We don’t know who visits this site and thus we do not share data, but…

If you had the ability to log in you would have been given a password and your IP address would be captured and shared with others.

There are two notes that remind you about HTTP sites, before you visit them… when you see the warning “Not Secure” you can click on that (Not Secure) and see one remnder, and if you click on the Padlock symbol, you will see the other… just FYI.
